No. That is perfectly permissible. You own a copy of the CD, so placing it on an MP3 is like doing a backup copy. As long as you don't use that MP3 commercially (to host dances, for example) you should be fine.

No, that is fine. You simply can't share it with someone else, either by letting them copy the CD or uploading it on someone else's computer, etc.
