Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

What constitutes a legal contract for a motorcycle sale?

My 28 year old naive daughter financed and titled a motorcycle from a dealership in her name for a guy who promptly dropped her. Vehicle price $9,800. Amount financed $22,000. We have since been told the contract involved price gouging, she was not working, has no cycle license and put only PLPD coverage on it. Was this transaction handled legally? Do we have any leverage in helping her undo this?

If the title is in your daughter's name, the first thing she should do is pick it up. The police might help. If the guy won't cooperate and hides it, then she could report it stolen. As far as the transaction, it should be reviewed by an attorney to determine if it is an enforceable contract.

Good luck.
