Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
Corporate delay on posting rebate checks
Can I sue the internet company that
sold me a mobile phone for not sending
me rebate checks as promised? My
rebate check was to have be mailed in 6
- 8 weeks. 12 weeks have lapsed &
while they have repeatedly confirmed
having received all documents, they are
'still processing'. Can I sue the company
for the check amount, the delay, loss of
time, and mental anguish?

Re: Corporate delay on posting rebate checks
If you are willing to pay the legal fees and costs, you can sue for anything you want to sue for. However, I doubt that you would prevail on claims of mental anguish as that is a bit far-fetched for a cell phone rebate check or for loss of time and delay. My suggestion is to keep pursuing the cell phone company.
