Am I resoponsible for my deceased husband's medical bills

Only if he has assets that will be probated in an estate through the courts. Any assets that were held jointly with you automatically pass to you free and clear, and creditors cannot use those assets to satisfy a debt.
If there was no money left, simply send a letter to the creditors indicating that he has passed away and there was no money, and they should just write it off. If you need help writing the letters, please contact me.
