Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
Car Reposession
I was recently laid off and my car was reposessed. I am currently seeking employment. I reside in Michigan and I was purchasing my car through Chrysler Financial. Last week I received a card taped to my door from a legal process server. It says for me to call because they have a summons for me. I am going to call and go to court. I do have a little savings in my checking account. My question is how far can a creditor go to collect money owed to them? I know they can with hold taxes and garnish wages. Can they legally take money out of a bank account. Thank you

Re: Car Reposession
Once there is a judgment one of the ways a creditor can collect the outstanding debt is through Bank Garnishments.
