Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
court document abbreviations:
What does the abbreviation SID mean on court documents?
It is between the CTN# and the DOB below the defendants name and address. Thank-you

Re: court document abbreviations:
"SID" means State ID (ie, State Identification). It is a unique number assigned to a person (one to a customer) when they are entered into the LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network) database and the CCH (Computerized Criminal History?).
"CTN" = Case Tracking Number. It is a number assigned for a particular criminal complaint (charging document) ... so one defendant can be linked to more than one CTN if he has more than one case ... but one defendant should only have one SID.
"DOB" is ... well, you probably have that one figured out already ...

As far as I know, it is just an identification number for administrative purposes.
