what is the charge if someone is caught stealing in a store? if you paid the police fine and they sent to the court ,what is going to happen if you are found guilty? thank you for answering

Shoplifting is called "retail fraud" in Michigan. Go to www.co.eaton.mi.us/ecpa/define.htm for more info about this crime.
If you pay a civil fine/sanction to the store, you can still be prosecuted criminally. There is a statute right on point that lets stores charge customers a fee of 10x the amount of the theft/loss as a penalty, which covers their security and investigation overhead ... and should also make people less inclined to steal again.
