Re: held in contempt

The maximum penalty for Domestic violence 1st offense is 93 days in jail. If he has one or more prior convictions it could be more.

Contempt of Court is also a jailable offense. In 2006, the max penalty in this kind of circumstance was 30 days in jail.

How much time he will actually be sentenced to depends on whether he pleads guilty to anything and other factors determined at sentencing.

If he hasn't pled to anything yet, a bond will be set and if posted, he'll be released until sentencing.

Re: held in contempt

If the case can be beat, there is no sentence.
