Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
License
I am a medical doctor whose license is up for renewal. I was charged with domestic battery, and the case is still pending, but we are pretty sure it will be dismissed by the next hearing.
Can I be denied a license based on pending charges even though I havent been convicted of the charge? If I go to another state after charges have been dismissed can I be denied a license. Also while the charges are pending will my current license not be reissued? Any help is appreciated.

Re: License
If the state believes that you have committed the assaultive crime, a conviction would not be required for them to take licensure action against you in Michigan. I cannot tell you about the law in other states.
