Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I have a Michigan Federal conviction from 1995 and completed my 3 years probation. Since then I have not had anything else and want to get my record expunged. I called the Federal defender's offfice and they said it virtually impossible to get a federal conviction expunged unless you get a presidential pardon. Is that correct if a person only has 1 conviction for embezzlement?

If you only have 1 felony on your record and no misdemeanors, you may qualify for expungement. It depends on the crime and the basis for you requesting an expungement. You only get 1 shot at requesting this, so I strongly suggest that you retain an experienced attorney to assist you, or your chances of having it granted are very, very slim. If you have the funds to retain a lawyer, please contact me, as I have someone I can refer you to. Thanks.

Federal law does not provide for expungement of your conviction.
