I stole a three hundred dollar gift card I then took it to another store and returned it I then quit two days later this happen the week of x mas I be never been In trouble with the law the investigator contacted me to come in for questioning should I go or wait for the prosecutor to send me court papers I can't afford to come up with a lump sum retainor fee I'm single mother of four and I need the money I've learn from my mistake I just don't know what course of action to take the employer is target it happened in dearborn michigan

No, you should never speak to the police unrepresented. If you cannot afford an attorney, wait til you get charged and ask for a court appointed attorney.
