Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
violating probation
I am currently on probation for retail fraud and was pulled over for driving on a suspended license. Will I have to serve jail time for this? I was only driving home from work.?

Re: violating probation
A standard provision of all probation orders is that you are prohibited from being charged w/ any new criminal offenses while on probation. You could get jail time, but that doesn't mean you will get jail time. It will depend on what your attorney can work out with the court and your probation officer.

Re: violating probation
Jail is a very real possibility. You should hire a lawyer to represent you and (possibly) negotiate a plea agreement that is suitable.
