Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Michigan

Pregnancy Discrimination and defamation

3.5 years ago, my wife was demoted from her well earned position at her company when it was uncovered that she was pregnant. In an email from her superior, her position was ''reconsidered due to her condition.'' We did not pursue Legal action as my wife was fearful of ''running into'' her ex boss in a very close community. 3.5 years later, through sources that still work for him, he have found that he is still accusing my wife of trying to destroy his company. We are at a point where I believe we are past our statute of limitations on the descrimination, but are hoping that there is something that we can do to gain retribution for the trauma he had put my wife through at the time she worked there, as well as the continued slander he continues with.

I look forward to hearing from you with a response, and hoping that there is still hope for us to follow through on something that we should have done 3 years ago.

Thanks

Re: Pregnancy Discrimination and defamation

Slander suits are generally not successful. You would have problems showing damages. You hit the nail on the head when you said you blew the statute on the discrimination case. That was your cause of action. William S. Stern
