Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Abandonement

Hello my question is that my best friends husband walked away on June 14th this year and has not been back. He makes approximately $80,000/yr and she has Lupus and in March had back surgery and receives $900/mo in Social Security Disability. They purchased a home last year and she can't afford to keep it and can't afford to sell it. He is living in the condo that he owned prior to the marriage of 4 years. She drained her money market accounts over the last 4 years and sold her motorcycle and car to assist their finances while he was in Chapter 13 bankruptcy. His bankruptcy was over in January of this year. Any ideas on how to proceed? Any ideas on how much she should expect to receive? He now has filed for divorce will he be expected to help her pay anything?

Re: Abandonement

Whether she receives anything from him depends on a variety of factors. She should consult a good family law attorney as soon as possible.
