Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Attorney Representation Concern

Can an attorney represent their spouse in a child support case? I received something today saying I am the plantiff and the court date is tomorrow in the Circuit Court for the County of Oakland Family Division. This came by regular mail, who do I call?

Only an attorney licensed to practice law in Michigan can represent another person in court. Call a lawyer. If you're unable to retain a lawyer quickly, tell your judge that you just got notice and need some additional time. Ask for an adjournment.
