Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
child support
My atty and I have been waiting............for my ex and his atty to respond to judgment of div. counteroffer. its taking forever. I am not happy with my atty. I am completely unsatisfied with my lawyer in how she is handling my case. My issue is.....I have NOT received child support for our 4 month old child. Dna was done months ago and hes the father. Would it be wise if I contacted friend of the court myself to get things going re: child support? I dont understand WHY my atty never filed for a temp child supp order after my child was born. Now, my ex somehow feels he doesnt have to pay back child support if thats how you want to look at it and I am stuck! What can and/or should I do? Help pls. Any suggestions would be utterly appreciated as to what direction I should take on my own if any. THANK YOU

Re: child support
It would probably be best to be upfront with your attorney. She may have a very good explanation. Even if she doesn't, I would not advise proceeding without her unless you first end the attorney/client relationship. I've found that doing something like trying to handle part of the FOC issues yourself actually leads to more problems later.
Good luck!
Re: child support
You keep asking the same question over again. If you're not happy with your lawyer, have an open discussion with her. If you can't resolve your differences, hire a different lawyer.
