Child support and custody laws

Is it legal for a mother to live in the state of Illinois, the child in the state of Louisiana and the mother collect support from the state of Michigan?

Am not sure what you mean by 'legal'.

We have become a mobile society, and it is common for child support to be paid from one state agency to a parent residing in a different state. If the case were transferred to the jurisidiction of another state, then the new state's agency would likely begin dispersing the child support check.

If the child is living with someone, other than the recipient of the child support, and you can establish that the support is being misspent or misdirected, then the Court would entertain a Motion to Modify to ensure that the support is being paid to the person providing for the child.
