Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child support

My husband has a child from a prev. relationship, the support was set up before we met/were married and before the child's mom was remarried. He pays $150 A WEEK. We now have a newborn and I am not working. It would really help if we could lower the weekly payments. The child's mom now has 2 incomes and is possible still on welfare. However my husband also makes more now than when the court originally set the amount. Is it possible (if so HOW) would we go about getting a reevaluation of the case? Is it worth it? Or will the court raise the amount because my husband now makes more? Would we need a lawyer?

I appreciate any information you can give me. Thank you

Re: Child support

Child Support is typically income based, so your husband needs to consult a local family law attorney about what his support would likely change to before he decides to try to modify child support. If he's making more, it's entirely possible he'd wind up having to pay more.
