Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Cohabitation then death of partner after one year
The question is (hopefully) very simple. Let's say you own a home and are male in Michigan.
You have a lady friend live with you for over one year. There's not necessarily any ''partner'' agreements signed, but she does live there and get her US Mail at your address.
Then you die, without ever having getting married to her.
QUESTION: does she have any rights to your property, even if her name is not on the deed? What does the law say?

Re: Cohabitation then death of partner after one year
Given your scenario, the lady friend would probably have no claim on the man's estate.
