Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Divorce
I believe that my divorce is final (I'm not sure). The reason I say this is because I have another court date because my ex-wife's attorney wants to add an amendment to the decree. I have 4 issues that I feel were not addressed by my attorney. May I bring up these issues at this amendment hearing? And if I'm told I'm too late, may I appeal for lack of legal representation? One of the issues is this amenment. Do I have to sign or agree to it or is it just forced into the decree?
My attorney has sent me a note that says he will not be there, he is done and I'm showing up at this hearing without him.
Recap: 1. May I address other issues at this ammendment hearing?
2. If not may I apeal due to inadequate legal advice.
3. Is there case law (MCL's)(Michigan Compiled Laws) that I can site to back this up?
If I can (or have to) appeal, I will get proper representation. I won't due this again. (I do believe that by representing yourself, you have a fool for a client).
Please help. Thanks!

Re: Divorce
You're in WAY over your head. Hire a lawyer to be in court with you and to deal with the issues that you want to raise.
