Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Grandparents visitation rights

My mother feels that since she has financially supported my 3 yr old daughter for most of her life, that she (my mom) has some legal say over my daughter, and legal rights to visitation. I have primary custody of my daughter and don't feel that my mother should be able to tell me when she should be able to have visitation, no matter how much she has bought for my daughter. Does my mother have any legal rights?

Re: Grandparents visitation rights

Your mother has no rights. You are the child's parent. The only way your mother would have standing before a judge would be if there was a custody issue pending between the parents. Bill Stern
