Generally, each State will honor every other State's child custody/support orders. Does the MI order address relocating the child out-of-state? What type of visitation does the order grant the other parent? Why are you going to relocate to Fl?

You should schedule a formal consultation with a lawyer. A good means of obtaining an attorney referral is by contacting your State's bar association or your local county bar association. They probably have a web site and charge a nominal fee for the referral. Most attorneys either provide a free initial consultation, or charge a nominal fee.

First, you should read the Final Judgment and other orders relating to custody, support, visitation, and parenting. Is there a requirement to inform the other parent of such matters? If so, the issue is clear. Second, you mention that you have "sole custody." If the other parent has been deemed unfit or has relinquished parental rights and pays no support, there may be no requirement to inform him of a new address. Relocation to another state raises issues of the purpose of such relocation, does the Final Judgment prohibit such relocations, etc. As you may appreciate, the issues can be complex; therefore, you are advised to consult with a local family law attorney who can advise you re specific issues after reviewing relevant orders of the court.
