I highly doubt a judge would allow this. You are biased and have an interest in the outcome of the case. While your intentions may be honest, this is about your step-daughter's best interest and NOT your relationship to the judge. I would hope he doesn't consider that as evidence of your trustworthiness. If your step-daughter needs someone to speak on her behalf the judge would probably make other arrangements, such as a court-appointed psychologist, social worker, or Friend of the Court.

I doubt the judge will let you speak as you are not an attorney and you would be essentially representing someone. That is practicing without a license.
