Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Visitation Scheduling

My ex recently was ordered to pay child support. He's never met my son, and wants visitation. I cannot get him to commit to a schedule of visitation. He lives 3 hours away, and has other commitments. He wants me to do all the driving, and is treating this like it is all about him. Not my son. Is there any way I can make him commit to a scheduled visitation at my residence? I do not want him to take my son yet, as they are strangers.

Re: Visitation Scheduling

I have received a copy of your message about your ex's desire for visitation. Our firm specializes in these matters. I can tell you that he will get some "Parenting time" if he desires, but it will be a much more reasonable time and under fairer circumstances than he is demanding of you. You need to consult with an attorney who who is familiar with the practices in the county where you were divorced. Call my associate, Helene Phillips if you have further questions. John C.
