wife is seeking a divorce in the mean time husband is emotionaly and verbably making threats how can she stop him from harrassing her and her children

If the parties are all living together, she can petition to have him removed from the home due to the abuse. To prove the abuse, tell him on tape in his presence that he is being recorded and then use the recording. That probably will stop the verbal abuse.
