Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

''Best years of my life''

I am with a man more than 10 years my senior. Both of us have never been married. When we do discuss marriage he brings up the idea of a prenuptial agreement.

I am not opposed to prenuptial agreements. I recently was told that I should look into having a ''best years of my life'' clause added if ever I am faced with a prenuptial. Can you explain what this clause means and how I would benefit.

Re: ''Best years of my life''

Basically, you make the prenuptual have stages....if you are together for a certain number of years, then you get X, for more years, you get more until you finally are treated as if the prenuptual never existed. It is simply done in stages. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
