Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

common law for 18 years

after years of abuse and so dependant on my significant other along with an accident i had to lie about and was extremely hurt, he had no insurance and said i stole the car or my children and i had to leave, physical abuse on children im at fault the most but can i sue for the accident even though i had no liscense, i have lived a lie for 18 years helping him with his buisness do i have any rights thanks respectfully teresa

The statute of limitations on auto accidents is 3 years so it is doubtful that you would have a claim. Also, there are no common law rights in Michigan and many other states so you may not have any property rights justs because you lived together and had kids together. Bill Stern
