do i contact other parties lawyer?

my son was involved in accident where he hit a child on a bicycle. he was found not at fault by police. the car was in my name and no insurance was on car at time.childs lawyer sent letter, wants both of us to reveal if we had car insurance at the time. do we contact the childs lawyer?

I would contact the attorney, but be careful to only tell him that the vehicle was not insured. You may want to retain an attorney to proceed any further than that. If the lawyer knows you have no insurance, and thinks that you are otherwise unrecoverable, there's a good chance he will leave you alone. If you ignore him/her, you'll get sued for certain.
