Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Denial of Right to Work?

I'm a freelance photographer. A few months ago a local state university used several of my images without permission. They were clearly in the wrong and once the university council learned the facts they settled immediately along with a letter of apology.

This week a local newspaper I do a lot of work for requested the university grant me a photo credential to shoot a national championship event. The credential request went through the same person in the athletic department who previously used my images without permission. This person rejected the photo credential request. Subsequently the newspaper has pulled me off any university related assignments for the foreseeable future because of this guy's hostility.

In effect it will incur a substantial amount of lost revenue because of this. Again, Im freelance. Not a staff photographer for this newspaper.

Do I have any potential for recourse what so ever?

Re: Denial of Right to Work?

Perhaps you would have a case for interference with some economic relationship but it would be a difficult case and no lawyer is going to take that on a contingency. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
