Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
Divorce and bankruptcy
If a spouse has filed for divorce after about 6 years of marriage, can he/she also file for individual bankruptcy on bills owed such as home mortgage and auto loans and credit cards, etc.? This seems to be what has taken place, leaving the ball.... bills and all else to the other spouse. I thought the bankruptcy would have to be a joint venture.
Thanks for your advice
