Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
purchase
I am an antique dealer, and i was called out to a ladies home,by her,to purchase some items.I offered her the price i could afford to pay for each item, and she counter offered with her price she wanted,we agreed, and i paid her for the items.A few days later,i get threatening phone calls from her son's who are lawyers, wanting the items back, and claiming i took advantage of their mother.I then called the mother back, and she even admitted that i was fair with her,and that those were her items to sell, not her son's.The son's just want to inherit the items,so that's what that is all about.I also informed them, that i had sold some of the items,so they tol;d me to go get them back, while continuinmg to harrass me,by threatening a court battle.I have been in this business for 30 years, and this is how it works.I get calls,go on these calls, and purchase items.Did i do anything wrong, and do i have to return the items.
Thankyou,les

Re: purchase
Ask them not to call you or you will report the harassment to the police. It sounds like it was an arm's length transaction and I see absolutely no basis for suit.
