How to apply for a green card
Hello
My husband got his asylum back in 1997, a month ago in May 2006 he was adjusted to permanent resident status. He and I were married in July 2002 and I came to USA in August 2003 (entered without inspection) and applied for asylum on my own and got it in November 2004, together with I 94, SSN and all other documents. I have become eligible to apply for status adjustment in November 2005. Since he got his green card, what would be the best way for me to apply (basically what would be the fastest way)? Should I go ahead and apply as asylee or if I apply through him being a permanent resident do we have to send form I 130 together with I 485 or is he eligible to apply for me without filing I 130 as he was in the category that allows derivative status for a spouse. Any advice or help on what would be the best way to proceed is going to be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: How to apply for a green card
Hello, that depends because you say you were eligible to adjust status to permanent residence in Nov. 2005 so that would be quicker than your husband's. Did you apply in Nov. 2005?
