Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan
My boyfriend has been in the US for five years on a student visa. It's expired at the moment and we want to get married since we're having a baby and he wants to stay in the US. The marriage form at our local courthouse required that we needed a Social Security number and birth certificate. He has niether and only a Saudi Arabian picture ID. He doesn't want to go back because of the possibility that they might not renew his visa. How do we get married if he doesn't have those things? And if we get married, what do we do then to apply for the green card?

He should not require a social security number to get married. He will need his birth certificate (with English translation) for his green card application so I suggest getting that as soon as possible.

SSN is not a mandatory requirement. If he has none, state so. A certified birth certificate issued by the authorities of his country of birth is a requirement in Michigan. He might have to contact family back home and ask them to send him a certified copy.
You can find helpful information about Michigan marriage license and procedures of applying on internet, for example: http://marriage.about.com/cs/marriagelicenses/p/michigan.htm
When you are married and he is applying for a green card (permanent residency), you will need to petition and sponsor him; at the same time, he will apply for adjustment of status and a work permit; then, he can get a SSN, etc.
If you need legal assistance with his application for a green card, please let me know.
