Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan
I committed a crime one year ago and was sentenced to 2 misdemeanors for a single misconduct in Michigan. I need to hire a immigration attorney for my H1B visa supporting letter.
I picked up a pretty new computer monitor beside trash bin and was charged Larceny in the building at Michigan. I was sentenced for two misdemeanors of R&C stolen property < $200 and B&E illegal entry. Since it was first time, I do not need to be in Jail, instead, they put me in 12 month probation. After I was sentenced, my H1B visa was luckily approved in US. Since I need to go back to my country for wedding, I need to apply for the visa outside of US to get back to my work. I am worried about if those two misdemeanors are CIMT. Because if they are CIMT, I may be inadmissible to US. However, since my H1B visa was approved after the sentence, does that mean I will also be ok if I apply the visa outside of US? I want to hire a attorney to make this case clear and write me a visa supporting letter. It will be very helpful for me to have this letter for the visa interview.

The fact that the H-1B was approved afterwards does not necessarily mean that the U.S. Consulate abroad will approve your visa. You are correct in seeking the help of an immigration lawyer. I would need to see your judgement of sentence from the court to better advise you. Please call my office to set up a free consultation in person. (248) 619-0065
