Legal Question in Insurance Law in Michigan

Automobile property damage

my car was parked and a woman hit my car. She admitted fault and came and actually told me she hit my car. Her insurance company Allstate has told me that they only have to pay the amount of damage up to the deductible on my own auto insurance. I am in school in Univ Michigan, but my car is registered and insured in Florida. Is Allstate telling me the truth and if so is there a statute I can look at to verify what they are telling me?

Re: Automobile property damage

it should not matter, and allstate should be paying the entire property claim, plus loss if use. This falls under the Michigan no fault act. Visit me at www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
