Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Michigan
License my Manual I wrote on a Reentry Program for Ex-Offenders
I want to license my manual that I spent a year and a half to complete. I want to start a Non-Profit organization for reentry, but I want to protect myself, if the board kicked me off, that they would have to still pay me to utilize my program, or they would have to change the name and the whole program. I want to open many of these programs, but I want to protect myself where no one can take the program from me even if it is a non-profit program? I really need legal help with this issue. I want my Grandchildren to gain something from this when I am long gone. What form would I fill out to License my manual I wrote on a reentry program.

There's no form - you need to talk to an attorney about what you want to do. Basically, you will want to register your copyright in the manual (and possibly a trademark as well, although you will need to be careful regarding private inurement that could affect tax exempt status), and then license those to the non-profit. You will need to be careful not to participate in the licensing negotiations on behalf of the non-profit, as that would create a conflict of interest.

This is a copyright issue as well as a 501(c)(3) corporation issue that entails some work. Contact a competent business attorney in your jurisdiction to assist you.
Good Luck!
