renter's rights and repairs

I have a 12 mnth lease. Ive been here 6 mnths. Oven doesnt work. Needs a $150 part. Landlord has an addendum (an illegal one I believe) that says the tenant must pay up to $70 on repairs/maintnce. Am I really responsible for major repairs on major appliances? Is this addendum of sharing maintnce/repair costs legal? thnks!

Illegal provisions are discussed at MCL 554.633, which you can access on the Michigan Legislature website. Whether the provision is enforceable or illegal depends on the specific language of the addendum and when the addendum was added, as well as the circumstances of the addition.
