Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Michigan

emergency time limit exceeded

I have a 26 yr. old daughter who had a stroke 8/14/06. She was not moved from our ER to a better hospital fast enough to receive the clot busting drug in time.3 hours is the limit and our ER exceeded that time before they decided she needed to go elsewhere. The doctor seemed very flustered and was condescending towards my family.He wouldn't even come out and say she had a stroke, and I already knew, since my father died from one.Then she was excepted by a hospital whose neurologist wasn't even there,out of the country, on vacation, so had to be moved again.Long story short,3 hospitals later, from time of stroke at 8:15am at home (I drove her to hospital)it would have taken longer to call ambulance, to time of actual neurologist, in the right place,seeing her at 4:30pm is ridiculous, don't you think? Do we have grounds to sue at least our hospital? I just want her to have bills paid and to get some extra rehabilitation to get back to normal.Her hand and arm will take the longest to come back, if it even does completely.Her whole left side was affected. Any info you can offer would help. I'm not sure where to turn. Thanks

I do not want to tell you that you absolutely have a case because these types of cases are exceedingly complicated and difficult. You need a real specialist. Time is of the essence to get on this thing. I have seen excellent recoveries with these types of cases.
