Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Michigan
Is the hospital responsible for miscarriage?
My wife had a steriod injection with sedation at a local hospital for her back. She knew she may be pregnant and when asked she said ''maybe.'' The hospital gave her a urine test and cheap preg test..and told her negative. She was very sick following the procedure, and missed period..obgyn told her she was pregnant and then we voiced immediate concern as the calculation showed pregnant during the shot. She called with concerns and they sent files to obgyn. He says it was ''god's will.'' which we agree on, however, we just got the bill and are outraged..should we pay this? We're certain this was the reason for the otherwise healty 32 year old woman to miscarry after having 2yr old in perfect health...We need direction here...others are telling us the hospital should have given blood test and are responsible....we're not sure what to do..
Please help!

Re: Is the hospital responsible for miscarriage?
Of course you can't be certain why your wife miscarried but you can have strong suspicions. You should have your case reviewed by an experienced and aggressive attorney. Your first step would be to gather up all of the medical records from the hospital and the doctors. Then make an appointment to see a medical malpractice attorney. There is a very strict time limit on filing these cases. Preliminarily it sounds like your claim would be barred if you don't take action within 2 years from the date the malpractice occurred.
