envicted but still paying?

After being evicted, can the landlord collect rent for the months left on the lease if he is able to rent the apartment out again?

Generally on a residential lease a landlord may not collect "double rent" for a home. They may collect rent until the new move in and may collect for cleaning, painting and other costs they must incur from the early termination of a lease. Some additional information may be found in the "Newsletter" section of my website, www.SevickLaw.com.
