Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

We lost our house to forclosure. We were out on August 1, 2009. We avoided being evicted. Last I knew the house was still up for sale. On 12/19/2009 I recived a letter in the mail saying I owe $65965.12 to the a financial service that is working for the mortage companie. How can this be when the house is still for sale ? Also what should we do next? We do not have money for this. We are barley scraping by. We feel this companie has been draging us through the rocks since the required our mortage.

It went through a sheriffs sale and the amount you owe is your mortgage amount less what someone bid on it. You still owe the money and have basically two choices. Bankruptcy or working out a deal with the lender on the deficiency. Please visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss these options in detail. Tim Klisz
