Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan
I have moved to a condo and the lady below me keeps putting notes under my door, complaining about me walking on the floors, talking and now she is telling me that I can't take a shower after 8pm or before 7am. She stood in my way when I was trying to leave for work. Is she trespassing in my space by continuing leaving notes under my door. Is this my property?

Annoying. I had a similiar situation. Neighbor said my clock radio was giving her migraines. Not even scientifically possible. Ask her to stop leaving notes and/or talking to you, as you feel she is harassing you. Put that in writing if you need to. If you were truly violating any condo rules, or city laws, then she'd contact the association and/or the police (like if you were having a loud party). She is obviously home all day and has no noise going on her condo, if she just sits there and keeps track of how many steps you take per day. If she blocks your path of travel, and there is no other route (like turning and going the other way), that is considered assault and/or false imprisonment, if she does not move out of your way and you cannot move without touching her.
Try putting something on the bottom of your door so that notes cannot be slipped underneath it, or just ignore them. Buy her a pair of ear plugs as a joke. Or, throw them on her balcony, doorstep, etc. She will get the point, hopefully. I would assume she would tone it down and not make false complaints to the police, for fear of retaliation by you, and/or escalating something that's completely unnecessary. Good luck.
