can i pay the properity tax on my deceased grandfathers house before it gets forclosed on?

You can, but it doesn't mean the foreclosure will get canceled, and certainly doesn't mean you will gain any ownership interest. If you're simply trying to prevent a foreclosure that was initiated due solely to unpaid property taxes, contact the county and find out exactly how much must be paid to cancel the foreclosure and the deadline, so you don't end up wasting money. If there is an issue with another unpaid lien,such as a mortgage, then you need to get more information, such as the status of that lien, as you wouldn't want to pay the property taxes to avoid a tax foreclosure, only to have a bank foreclose for an unpaid mortgage.
