Re: No proof of Insurance to show cop,

You should have presented your proof of insurance to the police department and court within the timeframe set forth on your ticket. Now you have incurred additional charges and fines. Once you present your Proof of Insurance and pay the fines, the court should automatically contact the Secretary of State to have your license reinstated, but you should confirm that with them. Keep your receipts when you pay, and get it taken care of before you get caught Driving While License Suspended, which is a misdemeanor and carries heavy fines.

An attorney can get your default judgment and your bench warrant set aside. Had you gone to court, it would have cost you $35 once you showed proof of insurance.
