Speeding ticket

I got a ticket for going 5 over the speed limit. The cop said he clocked me 15 over but was only writing me for 5 over. I WAS NOT SPEEDING. My cruise was set and everything. He refused to show me the radar which I know he doesn't have to but I also filed a complaint with sheriffs department the cop was very rude and they found me to be truthful but I still have to fight the ticket. They will not give me any info related to my stop such as his notes, radar reading, certification showing he was trained to use it, maintenece records, etc. They also refused my request for a continuance. Can they do this? What should I do? If I were speeding I'd pay the thing but I wasn't and am not going to be blamed for it. I know an attorney would be way more then the ticket but I'm tempted to do it just to prove my point.

It really depends on what court you are in. If you are in the Metro-Detroit area, give me a call for advice, otherwise, check with a lawyer that regularly practices in that Court. You certainly have a right to a formal hearing and discovery in this matter. Regards, Tim Klisz
