Durable Power Attorney

Will Durable POA in Tennessee be effective in Michigan, or is separate POA required in each state?

What people do not understand is that there is not law that anyone must honor a durable power of attorney. If you are speaking of one used in a health care context, a properly signed and witnessed one would probably be honored in both states. However, if you are talking about a power of attorney to take care of general business, they usually are not worth the paper they are printed on, except for one single transaction where all parties agree to honor the document.
