how does one become the executier of a deceased unmarried brother's estate?

You apply to the probate court of the county where he resided at death. However, if he had a will that names another person, that person has priority to be personal representive. Also, if he had children, they would have priority. If neither of those situations apply, but he has other siblings, they have to consent to your acting.
