Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

need for probate attorney?

my late husband(three weeks) to my knowlegde did not leave a will. We were married 8 months. In most instances he left me as beneficiary. He had a baloon morgage due this month and some insurances listing his previous deceased wife still as beneficiary. Do I need to establish myself as executor of any accounts/estate?

Re: need for probate attorney?

As with the related question posted there appear to be several items here that should be addressed. On the surface it seems it may be beneficial from your limited facts to find an attorney knowlegable about real estate and probate matters to assist you. You may have rights in some funds and property that must be addressed and depending on how the home was owned you may need the probate court's authority to address your ability to own or sell the home. If you have questions, I offer my assistance. www.SevickLaw.com
