Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan

Feeling forced back to work

I injured my lower back at work 1 Aug 04, been on comp and off work since 9 jan 04 and had surgery (dyscomity) 18 Mar 04. I feel I am being forced back to work. Comp has based my wage on a guess and refuse to get it right, thus hurting me financially. I have an attorney but he's real busy. I can't seem to get any answers from anyone. Doc is not even asking how I feel, he's just trying to send me back to work with no restrictions. Attorney is not real clear when I ask questions and I'm wondering how this will affect my case if I do go back to work. How do I handle the Doc? The comp case worker said I will have to see their doc if I reject the return to work again (rejected 10 May 04 no restrictions and is set for 1 June 04) I just want to make sure I do the right thing. I still feel discomfort and occasional slight pain. I do some heavy lifting, climbing ladders and twisting and bending at work. Love the site, thanks!

Re: Feeling forced back to work

The system is far from perfect. If your treating doctor is not disabling you, you will have to return to work when they find you a position within your restrictions, if any. William S. Stern
