Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan
settlement cases: how much can i expect?
hello, i was injured at work(back), and have been recieving comp since august of 2003. I do have a lawyer, and i am trying to get a settlement. My back required surgery, and i was put on restrictions indefinetly. My employer hasnt been very helping, and says they cant do anything as far as light duty work for me. so if my lawyer tries to get a settlement, how is it determined how much I could recieve? I make 18:75 an hour, and im sure its not going to be easy to find another job soon. My feelings are I wont get squat, and i feel I should recieve the highest possible because of the indefinet restrictions. your thoughts please. thanks

In all honesty, if you have an experienced workers compensation lawyer, he or she will explain that there is no set formula. A lot depends on what your future medical wil be, your age, life expectancy, the return on the insurers investments lately, the defense attorney, and many other factors. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
